We traveled to Jalandhar from New Delhi and back. We took the train to Jalandhar and car on the way back. Currently there are 2 travel options to get to Jalandhar.
- Travel by train, there are many trains a day however it is best to take either the morning one at 7:20 or the evening one at 16:20 both of the have a travel time under 5 hours while the rest of the trains are getting your there in 6+ hours.
- Travel by car. Taking anywhere between 6 and 8 hours. We paid 8000 Indian Rupees to the driver to take us from Jalandhar to New Delhi. The cost was spread 4 ways and the driver had a 7-seater so it was quite comfortable. It is important to mention that there are several service areas by the highway so you will never go hungry or thirsty.
Air travel will become available at the end of 2017. The Jalandhar Military airport will serve civilian traffic in certain times of the day and obviously this will be the easiest way to get to Jalandhar from that time on.
