Indian eVisa
Since the introduction of the online visa system it is quite easy to get an Indian visa. Just go to the Indian eVisa website and follow the procedure. The visa application will have quite a few rather unusual questions and it takes quite a while to gather all that information so be patient.

It took us a little over 24 hours to get our visa granted.
How do I get my visa?
You receive an email which contains the visa.
Do I need a hard copy of the visa?
Make sure that you print your visa and keep it with you while you are in India. We were asked for the visa multiple times, at check in time @ Budapest Airport, at immigraton @ New Delhi airport and even when I wanted to take out a local Indian sim.
How much does it costs?
We paid $51 for the visa application. Thankfully they do accept paypal so it was a very easy checkout process.
What documents do I need for a tourist visa?
You will be asked the upload the following documents
- Scanned copy of your passport ( pdf )
- Scanned passport size photo not older than 3 months ( jpg )
We had great difficulties with the uploads at this stage as the files were too big so you might have to scan these in multiple times.
