Thailand: Koh Samui Bo Phut Beach 2011

Bo Phut Beach is one of the best place to be in Samui if you want to get away from the crowds and want to see a very well preserved old fisherman’s village. There are many bars and a wide range of restaurants and shops along the main beach road. Restaurants though are kind of overpriced … same goes for the bars however if you do not mind paying more for an excellent dinner on the beach it is your place to go.

The beach is not very wide however you can access it easily from the main beach road. Bars and restaurants offer free sunbed if you order food or drinks from them. The sea is usually very calm here no high waves so it is perfect for a family.

In general it is really worth visiting Bo Phut it has an unparalleled atmosphere especially in the evening when all the shops are open and many people on the streets. Every Friday there is an event called “walking street”. This is when the main beach road is converted into a walking street and street market.

Every night local resorts do several fireworks shows basically every hour you can expect to see one. On the beach you can buy lantern balloons for about 100 Baht.
