We got to our hotel around 1.00pm and decided to go and try to sort out the Vietnamese visa by ourselves. The following documents we needed:
– Passport
– 1 passport size photo
– 1 visa form ( that we go at the embassy )
We hired a tuk tuk driver to take us to the Embassy it did cost us $5 go and back from the hotel. As it was a Friday afternoon I was a bit scared that we wouldn’t be able to get the visa before the weekend but luckily it wasn’t the case.
The guys at the embassy said there are 2 options. We pay the normal visa fee of $30 or we do the expedited visa which is ready the same day for $60 each. Needless to say we picked the expedited visa option and our visas were ready by 4:30pm.
The total cost of the visas were:
Expedited visa * 2: $60
Tuk tuk ride * 2: $10
Tip: The Vietnamese Embassy will not take Riels be prepared to pay the fee in USD.
