Cerro Campanario is a hill about 15km away from Bariloche with the best view over the Bariloche lakes and hills area. Unfortunately it is too far away to walk there from Bariloche city so try getting on an organized tour or rent a car. I drove there myself.
There is a chairlift that takes you up top and it costs AR250 go and back. I got there a little before the 9am opening time and I was lucky enough to be the first to ride the chairlift uphill. The ride takes approx. 15 minutes. On top of the Campanario Hill you get to enjoy 360 degrees panoramic views, make sure you walk around and see the view from all viewpoints, I almost missed the best view because I was sloppy and didn’t look around well enough. There is also a restaurant and a small gift shop. The view from the restaurant is fantastic. It is a perfect place to enjoy the view and have a wee pint while you are at it.
I would suggest to go early as I did because when I got down from the hill there was already a huge queue and the hilltop also started to be crowded too. Organized tours arrive around 9:15am to the site with multiple buses.
