Laos: Tad Se Waterfall

Tad Se Waterfall is about 12km out of Luang Prabang to the direction of Vientiane. The last bit of a journey takes you to a dirt road which is not in a very good condition so drive carefully. The good thing is that it is just about a kilometer long. The road takes you to a small stall by the river where you can park your car or motorbike. The waterfall is only accessible by boat the return journey costs 20.000 Kip / person and the entrance fee is an additional 10.000 Kip / person.

This waterfall is a lot smaller than Kuang Si Waterfalls a few pools and changing rooms for those want to swim and relax. One thing is important though there is also Elephant trekking at the same place so the lower pools might be full of Elephant poop ๐Ÿ™‚ Try to swim in one of the upper pools to avoid surprises ๐Ÿ˜€

The elephant trekking costs $15 and I think it is not worth it at all as you will only go up a few pools on the back of an elephant and thatโ€™s it. You can also feed the elephants for around 10.000 Kip. If you have limited time and want to see only one waterfall you better go and see the Kuang Si Waterfalls instead.
