We arranged our trip from Siem Reap through our hotel. There were 2 options:
– $4 one way per person, with a bus with 45 seats
– $8 one way per person, with an express minibus
We took option 2, didn’t mind paying a bit more for faster and more comfortable travel. The minibus leaves at 7:30 in the morning and it will not come to pick you up at your hotel. Rather the tour operator sends a tuk tuk to take you to the minibus pick up point. It was not written anywhere but the tuk tuk driver arrives around 7.00am. This caused us a bit of a problem as we were not ready by 7.00 😀
The ride takes around 4-5 hours to Phnom Penh, road quality gets worse as you are getting closer to the capital.. expect a bumpy ride at the end.
The minibus left us opposite the Old Market where we had to take a tuk tuk to get us to the hotel. It would have been nice if they have dropped everybody off at their hotel or desired location.
The Company we were going with was Neak Krorhorm Express and the minibus was in a surprisingly good condition.
